Jumping Mediums: A Thinking Actress' Journey
The incredible acting career of Neena Kulkarni began in theatre in 1969. Since then, she has worked tirelessly and joyfully across mediums - from theatre to film to daily soaps to other forms of television to advertising, and now into the new world of short films and web series.
"I think I have the capacity to enjoy", she reflects smilingly. "I also think I like experimenting with mediums."
We are delighted to invite Neena Kulkarni - theatre, film & television actor, column writer yet again, to Mumbai Local. This time, we have asked her to share the story of each first time she experienced. What was it like when she stepped from theatre into film? Then from film into television? What happened when she first stepped into advertising? And what's it like now, entering the medium of the web?
Expect to be regaled with wonderful stories from this marvellous actress' life. And expect, as we journey with her, to begin to understand the nuances across the different media that the thinking and sensitive actress has to respond to. See how craft is built, and becomes part and parcel of the skill repertoire of a performer. And marvel at how this brilliant actress keeps herself and her roles fresh, ever living and continuously enchanting.
We look forward to seeing you at this Mumbai Local. And as always, our request - please share the details on to at least 5 of your friends who would be interested. Help us spread the joy and the inspiration!
