Theatre for children is a young, growing and exciting field in India. Junoon's Theatre Adventures bring to students some of the very best of professional theatre shows, made especially with young audiences in mind.
We are delighted to bring Gillo Theatre Repertory's 'Catch That Crocodile!' directly to the junior school students of Delhi Public School, Pune on the 12th of November, 2018 - into the intimacy of their school premises, transforming the school experience for their students on that day.
A little about the play …
A crocodile appears in the centre of town – no one’s sure how it’s got there but it needs to be caught and returned to the river. Easier said than done, as various high profile people of the town find out. The crocodile outsmarts almost everyone who tries to catch him, but he sure was not ready for little Meena.
A group specialising in theatre for young audiences, they have created 12 plays in the past 6 years. Gillo also conducts workshops and engagements that make theatre and the allied arts an integral part of children's lives. Their work includes content development, performance and training. Primarily based in Mumbai, they tour across India with performances, workshops and theatre based engagements. Creative workshops for children, teachers and parents are an important part of their effort to engage children and their community with the theatre arts. Gillo is a member of ASSITEJ India (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People) and a partner with Junoon.
