Junoon’s Teachers’ Workshops offer theatre and the arts as a powerful means to unleash the artistic
potential of each teacher. Each individual participant in the workshop is taken through a journey of
self-discovery, enabling him or her to tap into their own artistic self and bring that creativity into the
classroom space and into their engagement with children.
We are delighted to be bringing Junoon's Teachers' Workshops to the Class III - V teachers of Delhi
Public School, Agra. The workshop will be conducted by Radha Ramaswamy.
Radha Ramaswamy has a PhD in theatre research and has received training in Theatre of the Oppressed at the Seattle-based Mandala Center for Change. In March 2011, she founded the Centre for Community Dialogue and Change (CCDC), dedicated to promoting the use of this unique methodology for teaching and learning among diverse communities in India, particularly in education.
Theatre of the Oppressed, and Forum Theatre, its most popular form, are versatile tools that can be applied in multiple contexts. CCDC’s Forum performances in Bangalore have addressed issues such as social inequity, the pressure to conform, body image, and elder abuse. In 2014 and 2017, Radha led two forum theatre projects on mental health for the Public Health Foundation of India and students from the University of Oxford. Radha has pioneered the use of Forum Theatre with senior citizens, in medical humanities, and mental health in India.
